The MEEYA™ Line

We have used some strict and unique guidelines in determining which, of the hundreds of items in our inventory, can qualify as "MEEYA Certified". Here is a summary of these guidelines:

• Natural - from the earth, plants
• Transformed, cleansed, reformulated with minimal use of machinery, chemicals or synthetic additives
• Time-tested products and use of generations-old methods of production

Cameroon Boyo™ Organic Gourmet Coffee Line

 Working exclusively with small farmers, our coffee is a good example of the "micro-economic collaborative trade model " Mutana Marketplace is fostering. Unlike the so-labeled "Fair Trade" coffees, Cameroon Boyo™ coffee, brought to market following our trade model, rewards producers for both the quality of their coffee and the risks they assume by effectively "producer-financing" the initial cost of the coffee with their sweat and skill. Collaborators such as Mutana Marketplace actively participate in the movement and conditioning of the coffee until it is ready for sale. This process intrinsically extends fairness to the consumers, in contrast to the more familiar "Fair Trade" model, which, more often than not, results in higher prices for consumers.

Uniquely African Line

In this line, we have selected unique contemporary and traditional products from village markets. Some of these may just be for decoration, but many of them have multiple practical applications for the home, office or for the body.
