Cameroon Boyo™ Coffee

... creating an EQUITABLE, SUSTAINABLE and QUALITY-DRIVEN exchange of wealth ...

Historical Inequities ...

Deep in the Highlands of Western Cameroon, among seemingly endless chains of ancient volcanic peaks, lie a group of villages known as Boyo. Therein live farmers who cultivate, and in 9 months, harvest a high grade of coffee. This much sought-after coffee has taken European markets by storm. This reception creates mixed emotions in the Boyo region, for, while the Boyo farmers have found a receptive consumer to whom the coffee can be sold, only the traders benefit from the great wealth it generates. Consequently, the farmers have grown progressively poorer in the midst of ever-increasing prosperity of the traders.

Present Day World Trading Practice

... & Modern Solutions

The Mutana World Trading System for Coffee

Fairness through collaboration

The "global village" in which we live has provided opportunities for Mutana Marketplace and the coffee growers of Cameroon to proactively forge a solution to the problem of poverty.

Our farmers organize themselves into "producer groups" in order to establish common growing and conditioning procedures to provide the best possible quality of coffee. Mutana Marketplace, along with logistics specialists, the facilitators, ensure the proper transformation, transport and warehousing of the coffee.

Working together in a spirit of mutual trust and respect, producers and facilitators collaborate to deliver our consumers the best quality and tasteful coffee, and all that at reasonable prices (see flow diagram below).

Collaboration Economic Community

This approach to trade is not only unique, but conforms to Mutana Marketplace's "new standard of fairness in trade" whereby producers and facilitators become interdependent and share both marketplace risks and risks associated with the dependability of each collaborating party.

Cameroon Boyo™ Organic Gourmet Coffee Selection

Cameroon Boyo™ Organic
          MEZAM River™

We use specially selected AA beans and apply our "custom city" (medium) roast, revealing the full-bodied, earthy character with just the right level of acidity which lovers of MEZAM River™ cherish.

 Cameroon Boyo™ Organic
     OKU Mountain Ebony™

The Cameroon peaberry beans are so elongated that we call them our "longberries". We apply a dark roast on the surface of the beans without scorching the inside. The result, OKU Mountain Ebony™, is a sweet, clean cup with a light spicy finish.

Cameroon Boyo™ Organic
        OKU Mountain™

Using the longberry beans and applying our custome city (medium) roast, our OKU Mountain™ has the sweetness and well balanced tanginess, but with a lighter body than our MEZAM River™.

Cameroon Boyo™ Organic
          NYOS Crater™

When you want the full-body of the AA with a touch of the dark European coffee, our NYOS Crater™ is the one, blended 80/20 using MEZAM River™ and OKU Mountain Ebony™.
